Database

We mostly use Oracle (FYI: have great tech info and support sites).

We occasionally use mysql for OpenSource projects.

For the less discriminating, we use SQLServer as needed.

For more info try the Google database directory

Unix/Linux

Chris Browne has a great set of Unix and Linux links.  Highly recommended.

Always check Freshmeat for the latest open source before starting any Unix project. Most likely you can find something similar to what you need.

Microsoft

Love 'em or hate 'em, they have a great site for developers. CodeGuru has tons of good source code.

We have been investigating .NET a bit recently.  Waiting for Beta 2 before getting too serious. Check out csharp, it's Microsoft's attempt to clone java.

Java/EJB

Sun has a ton of resources online. JavaOne broadcasts are all streamable.

The EJB marketplace changes fast, theserverside helps us keep up. Here's a great set of EJB Links.

For a Java AppServer, we recommend BEA Weblogic or IBM Websphere.

Perl

You can't seem to build a system without Perl (or at least the Perlish PHP page generation language) somewhere.

Need a Perl module,  CPAN will have it.

Reference

We try to keep with slashdot (news for nerds).  It's the best way to keep up with the linux and open source world.

Google rocks. Did you know they have a great directory and searchable netnews interface (formerly deja)?

Dr. Dobb's keeps a great set of streaming audio presentations and interviews.

Christopher Browne's maintains an incredible set of computing links.
